Cat Adoptions for Shamrock

Lucky Cat Café and Lounge is

A Purr-fect Place for Cat Lovers

The Lucky Cat Café and Lounge opened last month in the Douglas Loop area. Proprietors Karla and Gail have spent many, many months working to transform “the blue house” into a wonderful haven for cat lovers to spend time with adoptable cats, and their efforts have paid off big-time!

The new adoption center area allows the cats to live in a home environment designed especially for them. They can jump, perch, scratch, look out the windows, play on the furniture, or just hang out in three rooms that consist of tall ceilings, hardwood floors, climbing trees, and cat condos. They can also play host to visitors who come by to see them in a cat-friendly and people-friendly environment.

Lucky Cat Café and Lounge is the only nonprofit hybrid coffee shop and cat adoption center located in the Belknap area.  Karla and Gail have gone the extra mile to make visitors welcome. The coffee shop offers baked goods and plenty to drink. Instructions for visiting the cats are posted on the wall by the door to their cat sanctuary. Please be sure to look at this when you come in, as it gives you information on the personalities of the cats you will meet once inside.

So come on in and check them out! Just look for the “Blue House” at 2230 Dundee Road. There are two metered parking spots in front of the building, and free on-street parking just a little further down the block.

More than a dozen cats from Shamrock Pet Foundation and Louisville Metro Animal Services will live there until they are adopted.  All Shamrock cats have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have had all their shots.

Reservations are needed to visit the Cat Lounge, but walk-ins are welcome if there is room.  Reservations are NOT needed to enjoy the Café.  You can come in and sip coffee and de-stress in this peaceful, magical home!  “We hope to see you there!”
