Update on Metro Puppy Mill Ordinance
From Todd Blevins of the Humane Society:
From August 2023
Hello again, everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend. I’m happy to report that (if you haven’t already heard) the Metro Council Public Safety Committee last week voted unanimously in support of the puppy mill ordinance! This is a strong signal to the rest of the Council that they should support the ordinance as well.
That said, the fight isn’t over yet. The ordinance is scheduled for a full Council vote this Thursday, so now is the time to make your voice heard one last time before the vote. When you have a minute, please call and/or email your Council member and ask for their support (see instructions in original email below).
Also, if you can, please come to the Council meeting on Thursday to show your support! The meeting will again take place at Louisville City Hall (601 W Jefferson St), this time at 6:00 PM. We’re again asking everyone to wear “Purple for Puppies” to show just how united the Louisville animal welfare community is in this effort!
Please let me know if you have questions about any of this. Let’s get this over the finish line!
All the best,
Todd
